The forms in my work reference the aesthetics and modes of thinking of a collective
American past. From relief sculpture symbolizing the bounty of agriculture and industry, to the rustic construction of smoke houses and fieldstone shelters which reflect the eccentric needs and visions of their creators, our built forms reflect deep fears and fascinations with the natural world .
I am interested in exploring the inherent tension that exists between the confrontation of human architecture and uncontrolled wilderness; an instant where utopian ideology meets utilitarian need.
